Once a pet picks up fleas, it can be difficult to get rid of the infestation with natural flea remedies. A pet will bring fleas into the home causing fleas and eggs to fall on the carpet, dog bed, and furniture. Wherever fleas land they can breed, so it’s important to think they can be everywhere. To control Fleas here, apply Diatomaceous Earth to your Pet’s bedding. Focus your efforts on your pet’s bedding and other areas he/she visits frequently. The more exposure the fleas have to DE, the faster you will see results. Other good areas to target include the house/kennel, food bowls and any outdoor areas that your pet spends a good amount of time in. Diatomaceous earth is applied directly to the pet’s surroundings. This is safe for the pet, even if he/she eats some of it. DE can be used as a repellent as well if you dust your pet after playing in an area that is prone to harbor fleas. After about 2 or 3 days you’ll want to bathe your pet. Since diatomaceous earth also dries out skin, it’s best to use a soap-free or moisturizing shampoo. Afterwards, comb through your pet’s fur with a flea comb to help rid of fleas.
